Sending automatic emails from IT software system is not anymore a requirement but is considered an out of the box feature. There is no IT system, component, application, a framework which do not have included an emailing mechanism. MULE ESB CE does not make any exception from the rule and it has dedicated components like SMTP connector or IMAP connector and many other components which allows you to send emails in various ways and for many case scenarios.
A robust email system will facilitate a template mechanism. In many cases, collections of email templates will be used to send emails for various reasons. Those templates can include HTML templates for i.e.: account created, password recovery, order confirmation and many others. Building a collection of templates is important and the usage within the MULE ESB is made with ease by using Parse Template component. You can leverage a simple email system using MULE ESB CE and this is what we’ll put in practice in this chapter.
